A better training Model?
Are you interested in a better, cost-effective option for your Cognos software training? Normally training Companies send their Cognos users to an IBM training provider where they use (and pay for) IBM labs, IBM manuals, while they learn with sample data. It’s true that they come back to work with some knowledge of where to click in the software program, and usually, this is where the real training begins.
A better way
What if there was a better way to train your users. What if you could avoid using expensive IBM labs or complex IBM manuals? And what if your users could do the training using the data they would be working with at their job? And what if this type of training could more be cost effective?
We at Techeducate have a variety of flexible modes of teaching. And your users can learn to use the product with the sample data that comes with Cognos. If you purchase Cognos, you actually own the sample data. (ps. You bought it with the software)
Method 1
One model of Cognos software training we suggest is (for instance) the integrated model. Your student/workers will learn the Reporting tool for 3 days at your work. Then, for 2 days our instructors will guide your users into transitioning the skills to the data they will be working with at their own desk. Using this method, your workers get to implement the lessons learned quickly, before most of it is forgotten.
Method 2
Sometimes it’s difficult for management to let their users leave their desk for a week. They fear leaving the position empty for that week. There is no one to do their work during training. For this, we have a transitional model. Student/workers can begin by getting instruction online. The workers can then do their regular work for the first half of the day, and for 2 ½ to 3/12 hours. After this, they can learn online following one of our instructors. Mixing the Cognos training with the actual work teaches them to interface with their data quicker.
Method 3
For those who are of the belief that for the best value, the worker/student should learn free of all distractions, we can also train using the traditional style of teaching where your workers can dedicate a whole block of time so they can stay focused on the trainintg, and all this at a competitive rate.
For 3 – 6 students, costs can be as low as $1500 per day.
More About Techeducate
Weis are Cognos software training company. We teach Cognos. Our instructors train workers who work for companies that use Cognos Business Intelligence as well as Cognos TM1 Planning tools. We have been doing this for over 13 years. All the instructors with Techeducate have previously worked for Cognos and are certified in the software they teach.
In the situation where the student/worker needs to transition from an older version of Cognos to a newer one, our instructors can help your company with the transitioning of old reports to the newer versions, for example, we can convert Impromptu reports to Cognos Report Studio or from Report Studio to Cognos Analytics.
The major difference between Techeducate and many of our competitors is that we can train your Cognos users on your Cognos installation in the comfort of your work environment. We also have customizable training models that will help your Cognos users to transition to your data quicker.
And because we eliminate the middle man, we tend to be more cost effective and at the same time, give more efficient training.
More about Cognos
Our training focus of is on Cognos. As was mentioned, have over 13 years of experience and we’ve seen Cognos products change over the years as they’ve evolved to compete with other competitive products. We’ve seen Cognos change from a simple reporting tool with simple relational or dimensional reporting, to a very complex tool where almost nothing in the reporting world is impossible. We also understand that with greater tools and functionality can come greater confusion, no matter what kind of software you are working with. Just buying a powerful tool by itself will do little to increase a company’s efficiency. Someone will need to be trained to use the new tool correctly.
We at Techeducate have experienced student/workers who actually had their companies buy new products because they thought that Cognos was unable to do what was required, while the real problem was that they were not properly trained in all its features. These same student/workers once properly trained are excited about their new knowledge and skill set.
